You have enough RAM now to run Vista with Solitaire open. :D Why wouldn’t you do that?

Better not let apple read this post! They have a strict policy against anyone who uses their OS on anything else then their own machine. And yeah, mac’s a little to expansive! Long live ubuntu!

Windows for desktops (XP, Vista and 7) built for the x86 architecture can only manage 4GB of memory, out of which only 3.5 GB is represented by the RAM, the rest being reserved for graphics memory and different devices hooked up, even if you turn on the PAE feature. Apparently MS said “Windows can do it, but the drivers don’t so even if technically it would be possible, let’s not risk it”.

Using the X86_64 version, things change… Anyway, I am all for Linux and Ubuntu, especially.

“Windows can do it, but the drivers don’t so even if technically it would be possible, let’s not risk it” <– that could also work for Windows: “Theoretically, Windows works, but let’s not risk it!”. Sorry, I’m in a bad mood today, cause of my Windows Machine!

Yep, I’m running Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire laptop. I’m an Ubuntu user for more then 6 months now, and a linux user for almost two years!
