I’ve just finished reading Ghost in the wires: My Adventures as the World’s Most Wanted Hacker, a book written by the infamous Kevin Mitnick about how he got from your Average Joe to most wanted super hacker.
A good read, although it’s obvious that the book was written for the general public and it’s meant more as an auto-biography rather than a book on computer security since all the technical aspects are left out, the only method talked about in the book being social engineering. More of a book to be enjoyed on a lazy Sunday afternoon with a cup of coffee or tea.
I’m not going to spoil the content, but I can say that it kills the myth of the untouchable super hacker, proven that in the end we’re all humans and do make mistakes that in some cases might land us in jail. Repeatedly.
